Tony Bennett

Research Professor in Social and Cultural Theory in the Centre for Cultural Research at the University of Western Sydney. His fields of interest include literary theory, cultural studies, cultural sociology, and museum studies. He played an important role in the development of Australian “cultural policy studies.” His works include Outside Literature (1990), and The Birth of the Museum (1995). He is co-editor of the “Journal of Cultural Economy” and of the “Culture, Economy and the Social” book series published by Routledge.
