Michał Matuszewski

Film curator, festival programmer, researcher, author, film essayist. He curated a number of film events and retrospectives at Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, a leading art institution in Poland - from experimental films to midnight movies. Co-curator of the Polish Experimental Film Competition and International Competition at the Short Waves Film Festival.  He was a member of international juries (Venice, Berlin, Cannes, Oberhausen) and published several articles on Virtual Reality and critical animal studies in media. He is a grantee of Culture and Animals Foundation and works on the visual research-based film project on animal gaze in film. A member of the Essay Film Studio at Film School in Łódź. His recent film essay project “Re-membering Topsy” is shown at the National Museum in Warsaw.
