Fabienne Liptay

Professor of film studies at the University of Zurich. Her research interests are the aesthetics and theory of film, the interrelations between the visual arts and media, exhibition practices and contexts of films, and concepts of aesthetic production. She is head of the research project “Exhibiting Film: Challenges of Format,” funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). Her publications include, as author: Telling Images: Studien zur Bildlichkeit des Films (Zurich: diaphanes, 2016); as co-editor: Immersion in the Visual Arts and Media (Leiden and Boston: Brill, 2015) and Artur Żmijewski: Kunst als Alibi (Zurich: diaphanes, 2017). She is also co-editor of the quarterly journal Film-Konzepte.
